Sisters Network Dallas is committed to increasing local attention to the devastating impact that breast cancer has in the African American community. In addition to increasing local awareness and generating attention to this issue, Sisters Network Dallas is proud to offer a number of outreach programs that benefit members of the African Amerian community.
Sisters Network Dallas hosts annual Walk events that serve several purposes:
- Increase local attention on breast cancer in the African American community
- Provide an opportunity for those in the community to meet with, and benefit from, a large number of resource providers who are focused on the prevention, treatment, and survivorship of breast cancer
- Raise donations and funds that will allow Sisters Network to broaden its commitment and available services to the African American community
Sisters Network Dallas also offers a more direct and personal outreach program which is our Monthly Survivorship Meeting. Working in conjunction with the Cancer Support Community of North Texas, our Monthly Survivorship Meeting offers a place where people with cancer and their families and friends to learn to live with cancer, and hopefully beyhond it. It is their lifeline to strength, hope and guidance. The effects are often life-changing.
